Canada Day at the Valley Zoo
On July 1, 2011, the Edmonton Valley Zoo will be celebrating Canada Day and the Zoo's 52nd Birthday!
Zoo-goers will have the opportunity to experience an incredible array of entertainment and special surprises to help mark this momentous occasion!
Guests can visit the Canadian animals at the Zoo and enjoy mini-talks about these incredible creatures and what makes them truly "Canadian".
Join us in singing "Oh Canada" and then enjoy a slice of Canada's largest birthday cake. This massive edible wonder is impressive to see but even better to taste!
For something a little more active, the little ones will love the massive inflatables, the Bubble Blowing Bash, or the Adventure Bus and then it's off to the craft stations to construct a Canada Day Creation. There will also be educational talks, hands-on science experiments, and face painting!
Last but not least, make sure you help us sing "Happy Birthday" to Lucy the elephant! We will be celebrating her 36th birthday by surprising her with a massive tiered birthday cake made out of fruit and ice. What a cool way to cap off Canada day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo!
