Devon Canada Day Celebrations

The Town of Devon is hosting its celebrations at the splash park in Centennial Park from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, cake, and entertainment, all weather permitting.
The Devonian Botanic Garden will hold their Canada Day celebrations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be outdoor art displays in the main garden, musical entertainment, crafts and games for kids, as well as Canada Day goodies. All of the activities are free to enjoy with regular admission.

Canada Day Road Race 2011
The Canada Day Road Race events have been starting Canada Day festivities in Edmonton for more than 25 years. This year more than 1500 people will participate in the events as runners, walkers and volunteers. The event offers 3 distances, 15km, 5 km and 2.5km, all appropriate for runners, walkers and “fun runners”. This event has been designated by Athletics Alberta as one of Alberta’s Top 10 run events for 3 consecutive years. The Canada Day Road Race has also raised close to $100,000.00 for Edmonton’s own “Cops for Cancer” Iron Team and the Canadian Cancer Society. All finishers will receive an official Canada Day Road Race Finishers Reusable Water Bottle and a Canada Day Road Race t-shirt. This race is capped at 1500 and fills up every year. The event starts and finishes at the Alberta Legislature Grounds.

7:00 am - 15k, 5k/15k, and 2.5 km "Fun Runners" will be piped across the start line by members of the Edmonton Police Service Pipe Band

- Road restrictions will be in place. 66 Street from 23 Avenue to 28 Avenue will be closed from 9:00 pm till Midnight.
- Roads bordering on Millwoods Park will be closed from 10:45 pm till Midnight.
- No parking at Millwoods Park parking lot during event. Parking is available at Malls.
