Fort Saskatchewan Canada Day Celebrations
8:00 am - 11:00 pm

Gather your family and friends and dress in your snazziest red and white clothes. Get set to celebrate the city’s main summer event, Canada Day, Fort Saskatchewan style!

Every July 1, residents and visitors join Auggie, the town mascot, to honour Canada’s birthday in an all-encompassing, old fashioned community celebration. From 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., plan to start your Canada Day at the annual pancake breakfast, sponsored by Dow Chemical Canada Inc., and served by the illustrious Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department.

At 11:00 a.m., enjoy the always-fun Canada Day parade marching through downtown, then follow the crowd to Legacy Park (free entry) for the opening ceremonies at 1:00 p.m. Make sure you get a complimentary Canada Day cupcake and ice cream courtesy of Agrium, the City of Fort Saskatchewan and Sobeys. The July 1 entertainment includes band shell entertainment, special activities for children at the Kids Korner, and plenty of unbridled community and country spirit from 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.!

For more entertainment, seek out a game of horseshoes or some refreshments at the Fort Saskatchewan Royal Canadian Legion (9964 - 93 AVE).  You'll also find a BBQ as well as pie and coffee in the hall at St. George's Anglican Church (corner of 99 AVE and 101 ST).    Be sure to stroll alongside the polished cars at the ever-growing 13th Annual Show & Shine organized by the Fort Saskatchewan Street Runners Car Club.   Canada Day continues into the night with the happy sound of fireworks as they light up the evening with a rainbow of colours fluttering against the sky starting at 10:45 p.m. Watch for this professional pyrotechnic display overtop the Rotary Amphitheatre in the North Saskatchewan River valley near Legacy Park.
